Mary Ann and I went to the Boyce Thompson Arboretum (BTA) on October 13. We got there at opening time (8 AM). I dropped off some posters in the gift shop. We left at around 11:00 AM, and stopped for lunch in Superior at Los Hermanos restaurant.
It was a beautiful morning. We did our ‘normal’ route through the arboretum (Demonstration Garden first, then counter clockwise around the main trail), but we didn’t go to the Wallace Desert Garden this time. There were some nice migratory birds reported at ebird.org for BTA, but we didn’t see any of them. We saw the regular cast of characters.
Ayer Lake was empty, and just starting to refill – they drained it for some maintenance on the dam.
