The next stop on our Florida photography trip (see here) was Manasota Key Beach. I just got a few sunset pictures. I probably should include them in one of the other Florida posts, but I’m sticking with my plan of a post for each stop on the trip.
When we left the Venice Rookery we had about 1/2 hour to find a beach before sunset. The closest we found was Manasota Key Beach. When we got there, it was crowded with people who came to see the sunset. We didn’t have time to set up a nice shot with an interesting foreground. Mark suggested the story was the crowd, and we could use people as the foreground. Good idea, Mark! So, the people you see in the photograph are just random people on the beach! It think it looks like a Coors beer commercial, or maybe a cell phone ad (since one guy had a cell phone) 🙂.
After sunset we made the 1.5 hour drive to our hotel in Fort Myers (Super 8 by Wyndham), looking forward to our next stop: J.N. Ding Darling National Park (coming up in the next post).

Unbelievable colors! Really nice. And those people? Anyone you know?
Thanks! You have to read the post to find out about the people – I have an explanation there! We didn’t know them.
Oh… sorry. I just looked at the photos. Will go back. Beautiful shots.
Love the beaches. It is funny, to watch during this season how even the birds will stop to watch the colorful sunsets also. (Noticed on my evening way to work as I waited (top down) at a stop light how they all were perched on an electric line in the sky, watching, waiting)
You can do that now, with your cool new wheels!
