Mary Ann and I went to Wichita to visit family on Sunday, June 17, and stayed until Friday, June 22. This post has a family picture, and pictures from the Wichita area, including Chisholm (pronounced ‘Chisum’) Creek Park. I also have some pictures of the kids that they may like, which I will put in a separate post. We left Phoenix early on Sunday on Southwest Airlines, with a stop-over in St. Louis. We arrived in Wichita at 1:30. Nancy picked us up, and Teresa and Stan loaned us their Toyota Camry (thanks!). We left for home on Friday at 12:55.
We spent a lot of time at Jenny’s with her kids while she was at work. Lisa and Tim hosted a family gathering on Thursday night, which was fun. There is one picture from that party. We went out to dinner one night with Stan and Teresa and Nancy to Augustinos. We also had fun hanging out with Nancy in the evenings, playing Rummikub and Bananagram, watching the fireflies, watching baseball, and drinking wine.
On one morning (Tuesday, June 18) I went to Chisholm Creek Park and the Great Plains Nature Center. It is a great spot. There are large areas where the original great plains prairie was reconstructed.
We had a fun trip. Thanks to all for their hospitality!
