Mary Ann and I went to Cannon Beach in Oregon for a gathering of my siblings. This post has photos of family, ocean birds, and ocean scenes. My sister and brother-in-law (Terry and Bob) are part owners of a cabin in Cannon Beach. They invited us to have a family gathering there, and limit it to siblings only (no kids or grandkids) due to space limitations.
We flew out from Phoenix on SW Airlines on the 8:10 AM flight, and arrived in Portland at about 10:55. Terry and Bob picked us up at the airport, and let us use their car while we were there (a Toyota Prius). We went to the beach that afternoon, which is about a 1.5 hour drive.
It was cold, windy, and rainy for the first three days. The wind was constant and very strong. We spent most of the time in the cabin playing games, and watching some sports (e.g. the Blazers play-off game). Monday was more moderate; still cold, but not so windy, and only intermittent rain.
We had an old photo from when we were kids, and we took a ‘now’ picture in the same pose.
I got photos of the Tufted Puffin on Haystack Rock. The Tufted Puffin is a pelagic bird, meaning it spends all of its time at sea. The Puffins nest on rocky outcrops or islands. They make burrows in grassy areas. It turns out that Haystack Rock is a good habitat for the Puffins to nest. They nest high up on the rock, which is far away and inaccessible, so I had to crop the pictures quite a bit.

Those bird shots are spectacular!
Thanks, Ricci.
Pretty great pics, Joe-especially your good looking family! Seriously, the bird pics are amazing since I was there and I know they were far away and didn’t stop and pose for you!
Thanks.
Thanks for sharing family photos, miss you ALL, love, Maureen. Kudos to the author, the most handsome of y’all (LOL)
