Black-and-white Warbler at Water Ranch, February 25, 2016

I went back to the Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch in Gilbert to see the Black-and-white Warbler. Actually, I just went for a hike to see whatever was there, but the B&W is still being reported and I hoped to see it. It is rare in the Western U.S., but not so rare anymore in the spring and fall at RPWR. However, it’s not common, and I wanted to get some better pictures compared to my last post on the B&W.

I posted one of the B&W. The Verdin is very common around here, but still a good subject for photographs 🙂 This one had some sort of deformity on its back that I haven’t seen before (a “hump”). I don’t know if it’s a normal stage, or if it’s a deformity or injury for this bird. I have some other pictures that show it more clearly.
