We went to the Boyce Thompson Arboretum (BTA) on April 12, 2013, with my sister Terry and her friend Nancy. This post has a description and some pictures.
We arrived at BTA at about 8:30 and spent the morning there. In the pictures (below) I have a Pacific-slope Flycatcher. That’s just my best guess based on what others were seeing that day (assuming they had the correct ID), and other things such as the eye ring, coloring, and beak size. The ‘Empidonax’ flycatchers (aka Empids) are all very similar and they are difficult to distinguish. Rich Ditch has a good post on this (and an awesome picture of a Willow Flycatcher) here: http://richditch.wordpress.com/2012/09/21/willow-flycatcher-i-think/.
